You'll be driving a RAM. Convincing enough?

fair point, the GMC's are more attractive, but also +10k for what I want, don't want that note. Dad's put 250k on a couple rams since I was a kid with nothing but regular maintenance and water pump replacements, so I know they'll hold up.

Dodge's are the most repaired truck on the market. Just because it has a diesel doesn't mean things won't break. This diesel is not a Cummings but built by a subsidiary of Fiat in Italy. Even if the engine turns out to be durable you still have the Fact that FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive) are the low price purchaser of parts of any OEM out there. So power steering systems, ABS brakes, Air Conditioning, Info/Audio systems, etc, are expensive and time consuming to repair. Buy and extended warranty and hope the vehicle they put you in is a good replacement vehicle with similar capabilities.
