I play competitive chess, and studies have shown that grandmasters at the very highest levels possess this exact quality. The thought of losing is such an overwhelming and driving force that it contributes more than anything else to their own continual betterment at the game. I guess I don't have enough of that.

Down voted by mistake. I think that it's very intriguing. I watched NS sacking Kiffin out on the sideline. I've heard of this huge ego. This article shows the ability to be humble. Share knowledge. To succeed. Coaching trees sometimes a made of these type chewing outs and lifting up. It be interesting to hear from Herman (and Kiffin), what he's learned from NS.

Yes, that's why you have so many "grandmaster draws." I assume you're familiar with the term.

For chess at the grandmaster level, "hating to lose" many times does not equate to "striving to win."
