Now, that's a scary thought.

The powers that be at AU may have fricked up their own plans. The rumors floating around were that very influential people told Malzahn to turn over play calling duties to Lashlee if he wanted any chance to keep his job at the end of the year. This way Lashlee would be blamed for the ineptitude on offense and be made the sacrificial lamb.

Auburn would then hire Kendall Briles as OC, get Stidham at QB and as bad as I hate it, hire Art Briles in a consultant role.

With Lashlee moving away from the BS whirlybird, move 14 people in motion every play shite Malzahn was running early in the year, the Offense actually looks competent now and with the defense Auburn has this year; I would not want to play them in the near future. All AU fans have wanted Lashlee gone for 2 years now, but as of now he is and may continue to prove that he wasn't the problem; Malzahn is.

After reading this thread, I think the following is very possible:

If Jimbo is the HC, I doubt he would hire Briles. Jimbo likes to call the plays, doesn't like the offense Briles runs but prefers to run a more pro-style offense.

If Herman is the HC, I could very well see him hiring Briles. I can see Herman and Briles being a very effective coaching tandem.
