Tired of paying Comcast $10 a month for their modem/router.

Found a surfboard (sb6141) modem on Amazon for $38.

What is my best option right now for a router? I pay for 75mb down and consistently see 80+ on speed tests.

Can you explain what this does? What is the difference between this and out of the box firmware?

better, more stable, more features.

merlin works closely with ASUS to release a better version of the firmware with input from the community.

often asus builds will incorporate features MERLIN has added in already but he's always a step ahead and he updates his firmware by pulling in the latest from ASUS to make his builds.

you don't have to install it, but its very easy (just click download for your particular router) and once you've gotten used to the nice features he's added, you'll feel frustrated going back to stock.
