I've been texted before asking if I charge I was attempting to make was legit or not. Usually when I'm out of town and am trying to make a larger than normal purchase.

Now I am seeing a few post that the number is legit and people have confirmed that the charges were made on their card. Weird because the credit card company does not see any activity. I don't know.

I think that you're going to see charges now on your phone bill. You might want to check with your phone service provider.

Maybe I'm the odd man out, because my number has been stolen maybe 4 times and they have always called. I would never respond to a text like that

It depends on your credit card provider. Chase and Citi will definitely send a text.
