Driving in the left lane (highway) while not actively passing anyone.

Anyone in general going 10 under on a highway

Trying to merge from an on-ramp doing 20 below the speed limit (highway)

Driving up to the very end of a lane that's ending to merge when there is traffic (you're a part of the problem dumbarse)

Not other drivers but...Any left turn light at an intersection that only has green arrow or red arrow (no solid green light or flashing yellow arrow). I am perfectly capable of judging oncoming traffic and safely make a left turn.

This one pisses me off to no end. Almost as much as someone going 52 in the left lane of a decently crowded interstate and blatantly holding up traffic.

Actually this is the law in almost every state. Stopping short still impeded the flow of traffic.

Actually...

quote:

Research shows these dangers decrease and traffic moves more smoothly when motorists use both lanes until reaching the defined merge area and then alternate merging every other vehicle in "zipper" fashion into the open lane.

quote:

By using two full lanes of traffic until the merge, you reduce the difference in speed between the two lanes. The length of backups is reduced 40-50 percent.
