Some facts about Javy's defense:
LINK
quote:
Of anybody who played even one inning at second base in the big leagues in 2016, Baez was responsible for 11 Defensive Runs Saved, tied for third and just one run behind Boston's Dustin Pedroia and Detroit's Ian Kinsler.
Here's the thing, though: Baez only played 383 innings at second in the regular season. Pedroia and Kinsler both played more than 1,292 innings. If you extrapolate out Baez's Defensive Runs Saved to 1,292 innings, he would've been at more than 37 DRS. That's insane.
For good measure, Baez also saved one run while playing 370.2 innings at third base and four runs while appearing at 194 innings at shortstop.

That's cool. I love the dead center camera, but it seemed super duper high for the NLDS

Well I feel stupid.
Cogs it is.

That angle was garbage

Cogs was arguably the hero of Game 4. If we don't use our most useless player to make the Giants burn Romo, Contreras doesn't get the chance to pants Smith.
I feel like this post needs to be appreciated more.

Also, in my mind Almora absolutely earned his spot for the NLCS. His defense, to me, appeared on par with Heyward, and he can actually hit the ball out of the infield.

Heyward's bunt tho

Probably had more exit velocity than any other contact he had in the series.

Could have been the first bunt for a base hit to land in the outfield.

Kyle Schwarber was doing agility drills in the outfield today, looking crisp (like bacon).

Oh, Wrigley how I hope to see you soon

A pic from my seats at game 1.
Still not sure if I'm getting game 1 or 2 this weekend. Would be the same seats, which are our season tickets, and which are darn good.
Ideally game 2 because game 1 conflicts with UW/OSU.

I have sat in section 220 which is midway up behind home plate the last few times I have been to Wrigley. Such a great view in those seats.
I'll be in the rooftops for the world series (fingers crossed) so that will be a lot different than what I am used to

Which one? With the new scoreboards, there are some with REALLY shitty views (read: no view).

I'm on the Waveland side between the foul pole and the new video board. View isn't obstructed. I have seen a few that are totally blocked now. Good luck to those people that bought tickets there

I'm sure there are more than a few suckers. The waveland ones are good for the most part.

Eloy Jimenez hit a ball 119.4 mph today. Only four Giancarlo hits have been harder in MLB the last two years.

Dat exit velocity. Does MLB network still show fall league games?
