if its a late model gm you will have to have a huge wrench to knock lose the self tightening clutch nut. after that its cake.
might have to take the fan shroud lose or if its a split style the upper half lose.

It maybe or maybe not left hand threads and you have to turn it opposite of normal to loosen it. Auto parts store will loan you the tools to remove it.

You can usually get the shroud out by moving the top hose, and the same with the fan. All you really need for the job is a flathead screwdriver, some sockets, a big wrench, and a mallet
