They only lost out after a very close, hard-fought loss to us in Oxford in Eli's last home game. Ole Miss just went through one transition year after Eli left. The Chancellor and AD panicked, tried to force David Cutcliffe to make staff changes, and then fired him when he refused. It has taken them a decade to become relevant again after that mistake.
