So, the football coach dictates whether or not a kid will attend LSU for engineering? Are you being serious?
YES I AM SERIOUS (and don't call me Shirley).
I am proud to have earned an Electrical Engineering degree from LSU in Dec '95. I chose to attend LSU PRIMARILY because of football & sports (as a fan).

hmmmm
Looks like there is a little smoke, at least. Herman we all expected, Briles ... not really the first name that came to mind.
But, a couple of things: what happened at Baylor does look like a witch hunt. And frankly, it wouldn't be the first time politics interfered with a Texas football program not named University of Texas.
Regarding offense, defense etc: it seemed like the universally accepted damning issue with Miles was "the abysmal offense". Briles should eliminate that concern quickly, if he were to come. His Baylor teams were averaging close to 600 yds a game. Honestly, of all the possible names on the table, if you were eliminating everything but just system and production, he's at the top.
Question- do coaches in the same athletic department usually know each other well enough that they could give an informed opinion on whether someone ran a tight or loose program? Specifically, might a women's basketball coach be aware if a football coach let things run amok, or not?
Because God knows Kim Mulkey was in Baton Rouge just about all baseball season. I wonder if anyone ever met with her informally, and got an inside opinion?
