Les needs to announce today that he's stepping down at years end

It's the only thing that is going to make the rest of this season tolerable for he and his team. If he would just announce that this will be his last season, it would at least take some heat of of his team and his coaches. If not, it's only going to get uglier each week. If the fans knew for sure that he would be gone and seasons end, I really think it would help ease some of the frustration that's only going to keep building each week.

He'll have to be fired to be gone now.

If by years end you mean today, then I agree with you. That sorry excuse of a coach doesn't deserve the rest of the year. The players deserve better than him

If he steps down now, then you have to choose between Orgeron and Aranda being interim coach and risk losing one or both at the end of the season. If we make the right hire at the end of the season, we could possibly keep both on with the new staff.

Would you give up about 10 million by quitting early? He's not going to leave hat kinda money on the table. He's going to make them force him out.

I think he will get his money regardless, but he could at least save face if he said he's stepping down and it would be much better from a pr standpoint for LSU after he the way things went down last year

This is what I hope happens but I think Miles is too stubborn to do this. The stench that will rise from each loss will make LSU look worse & worse in the media every week. And YES, it can get worse than it is now. It's bad having the media feast off of Miles' coaching shortcomings & inability to develop future NFL stars but wait until the fanbase, after a few more losses, really gets heated up & starts making a spectacle of itself. The end of the Dinardo era was bad but that will be kumbaya compared to what this will turn into. Remember, the internet, Twitter, Instagram, & 24 hour coverage back in those days was all in its infancy or not even thought of yet.
Les needs to do the right thing; announce his plans to step down & enjoy his farewell tour. If he stubbornly sticks around as if he's got no worries in the world, LSU will be the laughing stock of cfb (yes, even moreso than now) as each loss adds up & the fanbase's frustration boils over. If Les steps down, the media will change its tune & the entire feel around the program will change. It'll go from negativity to positive outlook on the future. The longer Les sticks around & ignores the obvious, the worse off LSU will be. Tiger Stadium will be a snake pit next Saturday.
