Why are you so sure?

Let's suspend the hysteria for a moment and look at this rationally, a stretch for the Rant to be sure.

If Herman is continues to win and even makes the final 4 the Big 12 will be beating down Houston's doors to join up. That conference desperately needs a new marquee name. Oklahoma is faded and Texas is still struggling. UH in the final 4 gives the Big 12 instant star sparkle. Personally I don't think that UH has to make the final 4. If they finish with a w-l record better than Oklahoma and Texas, an invite should be a slam dunk.

I don't think I agree with anything you said in this post.

What market would the big 12 be getting by bringing UofH in? They essentially already have the Houston market. That's all that matters, they don't need a new marquee name.

All the talk in Houston is that there is basically no chance UofH goes to the big 12.

It's the TV people who don't want them to expand. I think the big 12 wants to expand, but they're being pressured not to do so by the television companies in play because of money. They can see more money having to be distributed if more teams are added, or the cuts to the schools would end smaller and Texas isn't exactly one to give up money. Texas could very well be the ones who block the expansion all together.
