You are a dumbass if you think this shite has anything to do with safety. It's an attempt to generate more money. I can only imagine how many people get tickets for 5 over.

I've gotten 2 or 3 over the last 10 years, never paid a single one. The first one was sent to some collection/law agency in Minnesota who sent me a few papers telling me to pay them, sent them a cease and desist letter and never heard from them again 
! The others I've torn and threw in the trash immediately after receiving them, never heard anything back from them either. The city can take those letters and shove it up their a** 
! Oh and they have never showed up on my credit report.
