Need advice: Buying retirement gift for co-worker, loves to fish Grand Isle

A coworker is retiring at the end of this month and they like to fish, especially in Grand Isle area. Could you give me advice on what type of lures/bait works best for October-ish in the Grand Isle area? Mostly specs and reds.

In all seriousness, a lot of guys are very particular about their gear. If you don't know for sure, a gift card to Bass Pro or Cabela's is probably going to give you more bang for the buck, IMHO.

A gift card to Artie's would probably go over well ha! I already bought someone else a camp there, so I was looking to buy something different this time. You know....didn't want to be the "camp gift guy". And as far as the meth, it would never make it to the party. I'd hate to give a half used bag of meth. I like the bass pro idea though.
