The amphetamines was simply a guess on my part. What drug could Ortiz have been on that wouldn't destroy his career if he got off it?
No one has ever seen that list. No one knows who leaked the names. You take an anonymous source from the NYT and parade it around as gospel. The whole thing reeks of a smear job by some salty Yankee fan.

Not every steroid user who got off steroids had their career destroyed
There is also the possibility that there are still PEDs out there that can beat drug screens.
