Not even Giants fans were in this much denial about Bonds
How much more obvious can it get
I am a Rangers fan and Pudge never tested positive but I am certain he used and therefore I don't think he should be in the Hall until they let in the other steroid users.
But then again I am not a blind homer.
Can you imagine if Pudge played for the Yankees or Red Sox most of his career. He'd be a first ballot lock. Since he played for the Rangers its a question.
The team you play for matters a big deal. If Ortiz stuck with the Twins his whole career yet put up the same numbers no one would be talking HOF. He'd be looked at as Edgar Martinez.
Too many NE Red Sox/Yankees fans on the BBWAA.

So if he played for the Twins and had postseason heroics for 3 championship teams, nobody would be talking about him possibly making it in.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook.
I'm fine if he doesn't make it in, DHing should not be considered a complete ball player, but to insinuate the only reason people are even arguing for him is because he's a Red Sox is intellectually dishonest.

Some of you baseball fans have the silliest victim mentality when it comes to these two teams. It's like LSU fans when they talk about Alabama. The big bad Red Sox and Yankees hold so much sway they can influence the commissioner's office and no other team bats an eye. Barry Bonds had a tiny bit more evidence of steroid use than Ortiz. Just a smidge. Of course being investigated by the federal government didn't help his case either. In fact, all of the known steroid users mentioned in this thread have mountains more evidence against them then there is on Ortiz.
