Recomendation for Macbook Pro power cord protector?

I'm trying to prevent fraying on new cord.
Old cord gave out around the connector.

This is a common complaint.
i've used white 3m electrical tape as a repair and I suppose it would work as a preventative.
To repair one of mine I bought the cheapest charger off amazon and just robbed the cord. It is fiddly to replace though and requires some soldering.
For a $79 retail item the cord durability is shite.
The snuglet is the bomb for magsafe 2...

I bought these rubber sleeves that you heat shrink with a torch
