I have an a hand me down Remington 1100 12ga, and was having trouble with it not ejecting shells at the end of a dove hunt last weekend. I took it apart and was in the process of cleaning it and this fell out: [link=( )]LINK[/link]

I put it off to the side and continued to clean it. Well now I can't get it to go in and it looks bent

Is it broken or should I try to straighten it out? Where exactly does it go?

TIA

it's broken. mail me all the parts asap.

It's actually a feed latch I believe. Try to put it back together, you'll be fine. There's plenty of gun nerds who post videos of that particular gun being broke down and reassembled.

It's not supposed to fall out but they do once the gun is good and broken in. I spent years holding mine in place during reassembly. It goes on the little slot doohickey next to the watchamacallit there on the receiver.

Nah, just put it back in and line it up. My 870 falls out everytime I clean it.

Put it in place and line up the holes....may have to hold it in place until the trigger assembly slides I'm far enough to hold it

It will take you a couple times to get it back in right, but the next time it come out (it probably will) it won't be such a pain.
