It's like they don't know what the frick to do with Darryl now and they know killing him would cause an uproar so they just keep hiding him.
Also, why wouldn't Negan just kill Rick ? Even if you believe you broke him there he definitely still poses a threat to you in the future. I know for the doesn't make any sense but once they made it clear Negan's kill was more strategic than random, it would make more sense to kill Rick not his right hand man.

Far more of a punishment to mentally frick with Daryl then it would be to just kill him. Negan is all about mind games and it's why he kept Rick alive too, he wants to completely frick with them and break them

he knows alexandria needs a leader they respect, who is capable and yet humbled and broken by him.
He wants them to remain a community to work for Him.

Just watched this afternoon. Wow that was rough.
Who thinks Maggie will lose the baby? Remember she was having issues with the pregnancy and looking bad and needed medical attention asap.
That's a long time to go without attention to the baby. Also....seems to be the theme for her character to lose everyone she loves.
And Jeffrey Dean Morgan made me a believer. When I first saw him I was like "Look it's Denny!!!" (grey's anatomy reference). Didn't see how he could pull off such an evil character. But he has so far. He can never say he's typecasted as an actor that is for sure

He took out Abraham because his eyes said that death is welcome, he took out Glenn because the whole crew had something to lose with him. He spared daryl (for now) because in his confinements daryl will eventually crack and Ricks crew will do what it needs to keep him alive.
The only mistake negan has made is to let Maggie, and the other women live. They have proven to be tough... oNE can snipe, one can hold her own with an assault rifle, and Maggie is very capable.
