Jarret Lee. Stick-to-it-ness. Prevailed. Overachieved his final year. Carried the water that entire season (until the Bama game). Royal screwing 1-9-12.

Mauck had a pick six in the two biggest games of the year

I agree with your overall sentiment regarding Mauck, because there were times we won in spite of his efforts.

But DERP...

Jason White had a pick-6 in THE biggest game of the year. Mauck did not.

You said it was a smooth transition. Every time he came in the game there was a penalty, turnover, or timeout.

He wasn't lucky like Flynn to fall into a championship with 2 losses

To preface things, I loved JaMarcus. I even loved JJ - he always played hard and was tough. Nothing but appreciative of his time as a Tiger.

But Flynn and our '07 O need to have a fuller picture painted. So here goes.

1) We had a new OC, WR coach, and OL coach in '07.
2) We had a makeshift OL (Hitt and Carnell on the right side).
3) Our WR corp was inconsistent (only Early was a returning starter and he was hurt much of '07, LaFell had one of the worst case of the drops ever: LINK)
4) We played a veritable who's who of DC's (Foster, Strong/Mattison, Muschamp, Saban, Chavis, Fickell/Heacock).
5) With Flynn at QB, we never scored less than 27 pts in regulation (not many college QB's can match that.)

There was nothing lucky about Flynn and our O in '07.
