The pastor of the local First Baptist church makes a little over $100k, and it's far from a megachurch.
The Baptist church near me, owns a house in my neighborhood. In fact, its right across the street from me. There was a pastor there, who evidently lived there for a long time, but he retired and him and his family moved somewhere else. Then the next pastor was a young guy with a OT 7 wife, but I think he quit less than a year on the job. Then then they hired the guy who is the current pastor.
The current pastor and his family doesn't live in the house, they live somewhere else because he owns some type of company so he only comes around on Wednesdays and Sundays. Do pastors get good benefits? If so, that would be a good gig to have especially if you are a business owner, not to mention, on Sundays I see people stop by there throughout the day dropping off food to him and his family. So I bet they get enough food to keep their stomachs filled for most of the week.. So that cuts out expenses on groceries.
