That's what I don't understand about it being passed in the first place. McCrory was the mayor here, so it's not like he doesn't understand that Charlotte is going to be more progressive than the rest of the state.
As someone who probably identifies with the Republicans on most issues (social issues aside), I don't like the state telling the city what to do.
