LSUBalls - Cereal
I have a cereal story. At one point in my work years I was Sr. Quality Engineer for Packard Electric division of General Motors. There was a Manufacturing Director there who became a good friend - Talmadge Portis.
Talmadge told me that he was painfully poor when he was a kid. One day he was at a neighbor's house and they had Kellogg's Cornflakes and offered him a bowl. He said that the cereal was the best thing he had eaten in his entire life and that day he made a commitment that he would do whatever it took to rise high enough in life that he could have cornflakes whenever he wanted.
He was the second highest employee in the Mississippi Division of Packard. I'd say he conquered his commitment.
I have known people who were very intelligent. I have known people who were very smart. I have known people with high moral ethics. Talmadge was all three. You don't meet many peole like that.
