Well said. I dont get down with bashing performance. People make mistakes. Alot of people hold performance to this unattainable value and then ridicule when a player doesn't hit that mark.

I think the Rant is split on extra-curricular actions however. What are your thoughts on that?

You mean like Cecil Collins level behavior or simply poor choices like leaving the field early this past weekend?

Either way, and again...maybe it's simply a generational thing, but I'd never dream of going onto Twitter and directly calling anyone out, about anything. Just not really my thing. but I guess if that's the way people tend to roll these days, then I guess depending upon the behavior it might be something others would both do and expect. Dunno...I'm kind of out of my lane there.

The thing I tend to see too often for my tastes is suddenly making or finding a personal issue when the real issue is performance. For most of the time Jefferson was here, no one had said a bad thing about him as a person. There weren't stories coming about about him being a bad guy...just that after having cheered when Lee got hurt and Jefferson had to come in (that happened back in 2008, remember?) Jefferson's play eventually eroded and Lee was back in favor. So when the fight happened, people suddenly got to call him a thug when what they really wanted was him simply not to be under center anymore, as if it was his call all along and not Miles'. Dude was eviscerated on here and social media and then fans acted hurt that he was pissy with them. I mean, yeah...I'd bet.

But that's getting off track. All I'm really saying is that if we're really fans, then I've never seen the point of bashing anyone in the open. Ever. You want the coach to change? Write directly to the AD...encourage others to do so. But grousing in public only tarnishes the program. Hell...we learned way back in 2002 when the "fake" Saban speech hit the internet about BAMA that things typed on line CAN make a huge impact to the program. That was 14 years ago...it's much worse now.
