He was fighting in France. He will always said how much he hated the French before continuing on with the story so it's only fitting I include that. They were in a line and he and his buddies saw one laying on the ground. They passed on it thinking it was connected to a bomb. The next town over they got into a gun battle. He shot one in an adjacent building. After the fight was over they went clear the building and he took the officers pistol. He took an hour to tell the story but this is cliff notes. How true every word was I don't know but I like to believe him.

They always say history is written by the victor. So as far as I'm concerned, this is history. Great (cliff noted) story!
