Because they don't care. I could list 1000s of studies with facts that show how blacks are PRESENTLY disenfranchised in every realm of life, under the the guise of "equality" and all they will say is "point to a law" that says they are.
Yeah the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments freed slaves and made them equal citizens right ?
The audacity to remain ignorant and to find reasons not to care destroys equality and justice for all every day
so tell me what legislatively is unequal and what legislatively can be done to fix what is unequal
the majority of what has caused this uprising is isolated incidences of racism by individual police officers. there is no way to legislatively make individual people not racist.

I said excuse me?
The point still stands -- Indian and Asian immigrants come here and are majority of the time more educated than the average American. It's conveniently plays into their stereotype.
Even though we are abstracting 0.01% of they countries populations.

Wow America really is racist

Recently it was the bathroom laws and the voters ID laws. Those disproportionately effect certain groups.
Yeah you say individual police officers but the state has been disproportionally punitive towards blacks people since they were slaves. At what point does it become a trend and not just isolated incidents ?

Apples and oranges; came here under different circumstances -- circumstances they came here is more similar to Indian immigrants and they still face the racial blackslash black Americans face.
Come with something better

Not racist nor oppressive.

Disproportionally effect certain groups and law makers know it and make no amends or provisions to address it.
So what does that make it ?
So what does that make it ?

Because I agree, in theory it's not racist. Now the APPLICATION of the law is discriminatory. The ducking Supreme Court said so too.
I could care less about what a law says -- how it is governed and applied matters more because that's actually what has an effect on people's lives. We can hide under the guise of the letter of the law but our lives are dictated by its spirit.

Also, this fact alone does not make a legislation oppressive. Especially when this same stipulation is applied to far more mundane acts than voting.

How so? Please describe, in detail, how requiring a valid ID to vote is unfairly discriminatory when you need the same in order to purchase alcohol, for example?

How can I deny that black patients are prescribed pain meds at a significantly less rate than white patients?
Link? Did they document what the patient came in for? Why pain meds were/weren't prescribed?
quote:
How can I deny that black TODDLERS get punished and suspended more severely than white toddlers.
Link? Did they make sure to document what the punishment was for and if the children received the same amount of warnings?
quote:
How can I deny that banks give out less loans and higher interest rates to black applicants?
Link? Are the comparable income, debt-to-income, and credit factors observed?
There are factors other than race that play into all of the things you have pointed out. I know you don't want to see it that way, but it's just like a study posted in the last year that said black men were more likely to receive the death penalty for killing a white woman than a black woman. What the study failed to pull from the data which they sourced was that black men were three times more likely to commit sexual assault then kill a white woman where domestic violence was the number one reason for a black man to kill a black woman. Notice how adding one statistic to the narrative changes it? Doesn't it seem more likely that a man who rapes and kills a woman he doesn't know would receive a harsher penalty than a man who lost his temper in an argument and shot or stabbed someone he knew in a fit of rage?

As a customer, I've had black bankers be a tad bit more generous to me than white bankers. On several occasions
By generous you must mean they smiled more and tickled your ego a little more because there are extremely strict fair-lending laws in place right now. The CFPB would rip a bank a new a-hole if they made a loan decision on race, so again you're spewing loads of horseshite.

so people shouldn't have to provide identification to vote? how is requiring an ID disproportionately discriminatory? sounds more like a socio-economic problem to me. and those are also state laws, not federal laws. some states even provide free IDs to indigent citizens. But I guess it's easier to find transportation to a poll booth than the DMV
And what do bathroom laws have to do with BLM? That's a gender identify issue bud, and I'd venture to say more white people are affected by that "law" or lack thereof.

oh god
so again, what would you like changed? this seems to be a question all the activists avoid because they have no answer

He was on here the other day saying that nothing will change until he gets a check with "for slave reparations" on it, because Native Americans get checks for what happened to them.
He also said affirmative action, minority scholarships, and HBCU's don't count because non-descendants of slaves have the same access to them as slave descendants.
