He's had the most talented team in his conference the last several years in the Big East and still can't run the table even after Miami, Boston College and VA Tech (the established programs) left the conference.

His personality and style tells me he will be an odd fit at Michigan. His recruiting tells me he takes some questionable players but maybe he will change that philosophy recruiting at Michigan.

Do you think Michigan would've welcomed Noel Devine!

Yes. Where did this negative image of Noel Divine come from? Every time I saw WV play the announcers would always talk about how Divine is a stand up person and goes out of his way to be a leader on his football team.

People treat him like he's a thug though. If you've ever seen or heard an interview with him, you'd know he's not. He's VERY respectful, uses sir and ma'am, etc.

well, it's the perception/stereotype that he had.

super athlete with kids, grade problems, perceived to be a problem child (aka the deion sanders situation, can't really blame ND for that one, don't believe at all that he wanted to live with primetime).

it's the perception that the baggage outweighed every other possible factor about devine.

I totally agree with you. Coach Rod had the absolute best talent in the pathetic Big East and could not close the deal in 06 or 07 to get to the BCS Championships -- 2 loses to S Florida and the Pitt debacle ---- Winning the clutch game has always eluded him.

He will do a lot better in the Big Televen than the SEC.

I think it happened when Noel stole Deion Sanders car when Neon Deion was letting Devine live with him.

he's not going to need to recruit questionable players when he has the M on his hat.

he had WV to recruit in, which is a state devoid of talent, and had to compete with PSU, OSU for ohio and penn. and settle for their leftovers. he will be a great recruiter for michigan.

Deion Sanders was trying to adopt Noel before his senior season in a move many interpreted as Deion trying to sway Noel to FSU which was leading for his commitment at the time. Noel was hanging out with him when Sanders was with the Ravens in Baltimore and living with him in Texas. Noel, father of two at the time, flew back to Texas to start high school and instead took one of Sanders' cars to the airport without permission, left the keys in the ignition, got a ticket and flew back to his grandmothers house in Florida. It was in the Dallas Morning News.

Noel was high on LSU at one time. He didn't have the grades to go to LSU, FSU, Miami or about a dozen other schools. My question is how in the world did he get into WVU?
