If your team could sign Mike trout for his next 10 season starting next year, what would be the maximum annual value you would feel comfortable with? Take into consideration your teams finances, and needs.
For me I would go $45 million per, I think his next 10 years will give you 70 WAR and I would be paying about $6.5 million per Win

Id say 50 or 55. I personally think 70 WAR over his next 10 seasons is kind of conservative. I'm thinking more like 80/85

I wouldn't want my team to sign him. They would either be forced to let go of Machado or $70+ million will be tied up in two players along with the Davis contract. That'll give them maybe $60 million to work with on the rest of the team. And with their severe lack of prospects in the upper levels, the team will be fricked beyond belief. There will be no flexibility to make moves to improve the team.

You are probably right. I still wouldn't go to 50 or over per year

Why roll the dice on a player who will get busted for PEDs

Crazy fact, the last person to lead the AL in WAR before Trout was Jacoby Ellsbury.

70 WAR is not that conservative if you account for decline due to age. He will be 35 in 10 years. I would be surprised if he is a 7 win player in the back end of this.
