Reality of Miles tenure at LSU

11 Years
3 BCS Bowls
In his last 8 years, Miles has made 1 BCS Bowl.
In that same time:
Bama has made 7 BCS or playoff bowl games
Florida has made 3 in that time frame
Auburn has made 2 in that time
Ole Miss has made 2 if you count the new CFP Bowl games
Arkansas has made 1
So LSU is on par with Arkansas, and behind Bama, UF, Auburn and Ole Miss under Les. That should tell people something about how he's handled the Ferrari he was handed,

Sorry to rain on your boy's supposed "Golden Era"

One BCS bowl game every 8 years when the team is entirely his.

Won with Saban talent first 3 years
Fluke 2011 year but typical Less ending
Downhill ever since
We are ole miss now except that can beat BAMA
What he has done latey is disgusting if you look at the SEC numbers

FYI...Miles' tenure is not the last 8 years

So focusing on the first 3 is important? It is telling when a coach has great success initially and then has significantly less success in the next phase of his tenure by quite a large amount.
If you can't admit that Les has eroded LSU's program from a success standpoint since he took over, I don't know what to tell you.
If WVU beats Pitt, are you still claiming how amazing Les is?

I'm just pointing out your error. Don't get all huffy with me, Cleetus

Eroded it from what point? He's had more success than any other LSU coach.

But they didn't....did they?

There is no error to point out. I spefically stated his last 8 years and compared them to other programs in that time.
LSU is tied for 5th in the SEC yet has the highest paid coaching staff in the country.
So no, you didn't correct any error. You simply tried to ignore the realities within those statements as usual when it comes to the apple of your eye.

Defined as what? 10 win seasons? BCS bowl games?

For a guy that has been here 11+ years, you love to tout his record, but when its counted, he's proven that without someone else ensuring a well-rounded team based on sound recruiting strategy, his teams will underachieve.

Yup, first team in 50 years to win a national title with 2-losses both to unranked teams entirely because of flukes throughout the season.
You can appreciate the title, while still understanding that it was a fluke in the end.

What happened after those 2 games?

Nick Saban is a better coach than Les Miles, Choctaw. Say it. First step to recovery. I know it hurts, but you have to try. Say it.

I've been saying this for years and was typically down voted. Just amazing

I know Saban is a better coach. But Miles is the most successful coach at LSU. You can admit it...it's ok.
Can't believe I just responded to someone who is actually hoping LSU loses

What does that mean?
Saban had 2 SEC Titles and 2 Sugar Bowl wins in 5 years.
Miles has 2 SEC Titles and 2 Sugar Bowl wins in 11 years.
So if you go by hardware, then Les is no better than Saban despite coaching more than twice as many years and taking over a team in a hell of a lot better shape.
Saban had 1 NC in 5 years, Miles got 1 in 11 years.
Again, he doesn't have the most wins.
Dietzel had 2 SEC Titles and 1 NC as well. So, I fail to see where Miles is the most overall success.
Again, Miles tenure at LSU is a case study in wasted talent.
