Is the launch open or closed? Big Johns? Is the Amite full of debris?

I wouldn't put my boat in the Amite unless absolutely necessary. It is full of debris.

I read this an immediately pictured a launch in tigerland into the ponds on the back nine of the golf course.

The river is closed. Normal level and no debris. I'm looking at it now and have been for days. I don't know of any shooting but if I owned one of the camps/houses that are about to fall into the river I'd be pretty pissed at passing boats.
Now you know the reason. The river washed away the back yards of some camps during the flood. The are dangerously close to falling in.
Seems like they could enforce an idle zone there and open up the rest. We can't even use the Diversion right now. BUT I don't know how bad the situation is. I have a boat on a lift and could be on the water in minutes. I don't need a landing. I don't need a ticket or being shot at though.
So for now I'll just enjoy something I haven't seen in years. Peace and tranquility on the river.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)
