.257 weatherby mag

I have a Weatherby.257 too. Ammo is expensive and harder to find. However, it's a great rifle. My father in law has one too and he loads his own ammo. Guess I'll have to learn how to do it too.

I have one as well as a .300 both German (Sauer) Mark-V's.

.257 ammo is next to impossible to find.

I Bought several boxes at a gun show from the vendors wife while he was busy with another customer and could see how pissed he was when he found out how cheap I got it. She said she just wanted to get rid of it because they had been hauling it around forever.

Other than the odd boxes at gun shows, reloading is the only option for the .257 mag which sucks because it is actually a phenomenal caliber.

I almost bought a Mark V .257. It was supposedly weatherby's favorite. I was talked out of it due to ammo availability. It's not that you can't get it. However if you are traveling and need more ammo for whatever reason, the one store in a small town will have 30.06 and .270. Same type of advice is applicable to a removable mag.
