Worst game by a punter in LSU history?

Add this to the list of things have have regressed since last season, when most thought that was impossible.
With better field position throughout, Tigers may win this game.
Sad!
Thanks for nothing BDP.
I think it's time we move on from the Aussie kickers. Only one of them has been good. Other two were/are horrible.

The entire show was ugly

I think he averaged something like 30 yards a punt. Hell I think the average high schooler usually gets about 34yds per game.

it's not just the crappy lack of hang time and the short punts but it's also how many steps the dude takes before punting. he's going to get that ball shoved up his arse and soon.
we need to have punting tryouts and let the best ones walk on. i'll bet there are 100 LSU students that can punt over 30 yards and do it by taking two steps.

I think it's quite obvious that the Aussie kicker is a scam being run to get a free vacation to Australia.
You could find a better punter within 30 miles of Tiger Stadium.

Don't think this is on BDP. Les himself said he handpicked punters and discriminates against non -Aussie booters. We need affirmative action for punters at LSU

How can we can continue to coach our kickoff specialist to kick it out of bounds?
We were so poor fundamentally.

Attention Tiger fans! If you are blowing less than a .20 and can punt more than 30 yards, report to the LSU sidelines and be fitted for a uniform. As a bonus to appearing on TV, you will receive a full scholarship.

Open tryout to student body surely somebody can out kick the Aussie

I think the kickers and punters have been bad over the last few years. didnt we have like 3 scholarship FG kickers last year at one point? A kickoff specialist that couldn't kick it to the endzone. Who does the scouting? I mean have them in on a recruiting trip and see if they kick it out of the endzone with pads on everytime. Not that hard

Not the worst by any means. From DandyDon: "Punter Josh Growden was very inconsistent and averaged only 37 yards per punt on five attempts"
Posted on 9/27/16 at 7:05 am to BuddyBuckets
Growden averaged almost 50 yards per punt against MSU and earned SEC ST player of the week honors - FWIW. (I know he was down to 37 against Auburn, but he wasn't the only problem at Auburn, I think we can all agree.)
I want punting to improve, too.

Vs auburn he was 37.0.
He is a little over 39 for the season.
He kicked one 65 so he can boot it. He needs some coaching too.

It's obvious that BDP knows nothing about special teams and he was on staff for other reasons, which also means Miles didn't value special teams.

After our 2nd three and out to start the game, he had a 34 yard punt that didn't even cross the 50. Auburn picked up 17 yards and kicked a 51 yard field goal. Had he simply made a normal punt of 40 yards, they don't kick a field goal, and we are only down 2 at the end of the game.

I think BDP will be fired over the next few games.

If you play 3 yards and a cloud of dust football, and seldom score much over 20 points, you damn well better value special teams.
The long term failures in special teams, with no discernible changes to try to correct things, boggle the mind.

Yep. Our punter cost us points and affected the outcome. Sad.
