I've been doing more research and found out they don't remove your avatar from the game when you log out (you "go to sleep"). This means people or animals can kill you, enslave you, or steal from you while logged out. Such a garbage mechanic. I'm not sure I'm getting it now.
I recommend you find a good private server to play on, with an active admin and a good set of rules. The official servers are not moderated and trolls live there. The downside of a private server is that you are relying on the admin to keep the server up, and he might decide to take a week off to play Fallout4.

I thought this was about ARC.
Attack
Retrieve
Capture
Way to disappoint me.

I figured this is how it worked. I just don't want to put that much time into it. My kid would put that much time into it, but I also don't want her hogging my Xbox enough to make that happen.
I'm sure it's a fun game for folks who want to invest that much time into it, but it seems like a complete waste of time to put that much effort into just building a shelter so I can safely log off. I thought that type of game mechanic died in the early 2000s.
