I'm a junior, and thinking about it, I honestly dont know why you would name your son after yourself if you are a first. I do, however, see the appeal to carry it on if you had a good father.

Our family has a few names that have been passed down since immigrating. If God spares me the hell of having no daughters, and treats me to a couple sons, the elder will be a III, and the second would be one of the other family names, probably whoever I like most in our family at the time.

I wanted to name my son after my father who is a jr. My son shares a middle name that goes back 5 generations.

That is the tricky part. Once your father takes the dive, it is easy to go to a III or something, but the OG jr. is the tough decision.
