Ken Griffey JR. and his dad played on the same team

James Whitmore, Jr. (Brooks in Shawshank for you youngsters) didn't like the "junior" so he dropped it when he went to Hollywood in the 40s. He named his eldest James Whitmore, III, who then entered the business as James Whitmore, Jr. (CPT Gutterman on Black Sheep Squadron, directed about 15% of all the television episodes over the past 25 to 30 years).

Confused? I am.

My dad and I have the same first name but have different middle names, and I go by my middle name. I have a son on the way, and he will have the same first name as me/my dad, his middle name comes from my father in law.
