women should be allowed the expectation that they will not be raped because they are drunk or wearing a short skirt or look pretty ... really isn't that difficult to understand

Oh, I agree completely.

Unfortunately, "should be" doesn't remove the reality of the situation. The world is not a perfect place, for that reason we (and her by extension) need to exercise good judgement.

It's simple. If I was to use the situation to describe some moral lesson to someone; it would be.

"Do not rape or sexually assault someone and do not place yourself in an avoidable and vulnerable situation where you are at risk of being raped or sexually assaulted."

quote:

... being drunk/passed out is not a green light for rape ... under any circumstances ...

Does it validate rape? No.

Is it a green light for rape? For a rapist? It probably is.

Was there any evidence of rape under California law?
I'm no law guru, but I doubt you can formally charge someone of a crime without any evidence, so it's a safe assumption that the answer to your question is yes.

The girl exercised very poor judgement. Those are simply the facts of the situation. She doesn't get a free pass on her incompetence because she was a victim of an avoidable situation.
You think the father needs to tell her that for her to understand, or perhaps you think she probably learned that lesson already?

I'm sure you'd have little pity if it were your wife, mother or daughter, right?

WTF are you talking about?!

I have a daughter and for frick's sake I'm definitely teaching her the dangers of getting black-out drunk in public.

I guess I'd be a better parent if I told her "do whatever the frick you want. There 'should' be no consequences according to shell's ideal world"

No thanks. I'll teach my child about the world.

So you're on record as saying if this happened to your daughter, you'd tell her what a dumbass she was for passing out drunk?

Nice!

I'm pretty sure that he's on record for saying that he would try to teach his daughter how to avoid problematic situations.

again, max sentence. Usually max sentence for simple weed possession is 1 year, do you agree with that?

No I don't , but I don't think it should be 3 days either. That is the equivalent if we are comparing. Plus I think violent crimes should be dealt with more harshly.

and you are blaming her, again, just like people blame the actual gun for murders.

Actual if they blamed his dick it would be the same. Blaming her would be the same as blaming the murder victims.

Actually you can be charged with anything the cops want to charge you with. The DA decides if the charges are valid.

You are right in one instance. You are no guru.

In what world is rape the acceptable consequence?

So why'd he say "WTF are you talking about" to my statement if he would NOT say that to his daughter?

Read the posts/quotes, there's no other insinuation for me to make.

Yeah, because that's how I talk to my family; like an a-hole.

There are learning moments in life and you can let them go or not.

I'm sure in your imagination I'm sitting there yelling at my freshly raped daughter just yelling at her "you stupid bitch!" But in reality, as a dad, I would love her enough to accept her and her mistakes while also trying to make sure MY DAUGHTER ISNT RAPED AGAIN YOU RETARD.

Do you think I believe that?

Wow!! Dad of the year here.

I mean you deserve an award for still accepting your daughter after being raped.

You just would have no pity for her, because ultimately it was her fault.

So you agree with me, so why'd you say, "WTF are you talking about" if you knew exactly what I was talking about?

So you would NOT call her a dumbass? Reading comprehension has failed you, prayers sent.
