Simba's father's death in The Lion King is a notch above Bambi for me. Maybe because his character becomes more developed and I get more attached to him. Maybe it's because I lost my father at a young age. Or because I have sons. Something just raw and emotional about charging into certain death to save your son.

The Good Dinosaur has a similar scene to the Mufasa scene in Lion King. It's not nearly as iconic or anything, but the circumstances are similar (although the father wasn't pushed off)
