I agree, but I also think his reputation will help him quite a bit with the voters. Dude is considered the definition of grit.

The usual suspects- Ichiro, Ortiz, Cabrerra, Pujols, Mauer, and Beltre are about locks.
Guys like Verlander, King Felix, Beltran, and Greinke can reach it, if they maintain a little more non-sub par play.
