Divorced dad here. At first the kids gravitated to their mother which hurt really bad. But I stayed consistent and would not give in to the pressure of giving up my time w them.
The mother would try to interfere with my life and how I raised the kids at my house.
I stayed constant and consistent in terms of not allowing her to influence things at my home. Nor did I try to influence her house despite my severe disagreements w how she lives.
Now after 5 years, the kids see my home as the safe and peaceful home (as it has always been) whereas her house is chaos. They arrived at this point on their own. Kids HATE chaos and will gravitate towards safety and stability.
Keep the kids out of the fight. Isolate them away from the drama as much as possible. LOVE them when they are with you and communicate w them when they are gone.
No court in the world will take a child away from a dad who shows a record of stability and emotional support towards their child. It's more than a money game.
Do not let the threats of your ex stress you or your kids out! Most of the time the threats are BS and never actually followed up. Life is so much easier when you know how to put the ex on mute
