The majority of songwriters write the music as well. In a band scenario, you may have a creative collaboration where the musicians lay down a riff and the lead singer puts words to it, but when songwriters write, they generally write the lyrics to conform to the music they write also. She does both - she doesn't just write lyrics.

Do you realize the lyrics are the absolute last thing that makes a pop song popular? The success of a pop track relies about 90% on the production/beat.
