It's terrifying how big and strong some dogs are. My neighbors are completely fine people, but they can barely control their 120 pound plus German Shepard.

Outside of pits, which are pure trash, the next trashiest thing a dog owner can do is own a dog they can't control.

This is why pits are dangerous. Not because they're any more inclined to violence, but because when they do get violent, they have incredibly strong jaws and so are much more likely to cause severe mutilation or death.
