I know it sounds silly but he could go to WVU and return home. He would have to take a pay cut but could OWN the Big East at WVU and have an easy shot at the MNC every year. Thoughts?

Remember. No Saban buyout could allow WVU to eliminate the Rodriguez buyout and offer Saban a better package.

Your crazy if you think Saban's stepping foot back in that shite-hole. That's why he took up coaching, to get away from the coal mines.

If Carroll went to Michigan and Chow went to USC, and Petrino took the OC job with the Titans and Tuberville went to Arkansas and Nutt went to Auburn and Grobe went to Ole Miss and Fulmer went to Wake Forest would Saban go to Tenn to be closer to home?

I am referring to Rodriguez interviewing with Michigan. It would be an excellent opportunity for Rodriguez and WVU might be the lower stress level job that Saban LOOKS like he needs. Saban talks fondly of living in West Virginia and would be one of the wealthiest people in the state.

Sexton is probably rubbing his grubby little hands together at the thought of the WV job opening up.

Not sure about rubbing his hands together. I don't see WVa coming close to matching $4MM a year, and honestly I don't see Bama being willing to up the salary to keep him from leaving. The mullets are dumb, but they can't be that dumb can they?

Petrino took a 2 mil per year pay cut. Saban looks like he has aged 15 yrs since getting to Bama. He may want out of the pressure cooker and unreal expectations.

Absolutely the gumps are that stupid. I'm sure they already have a NC somewhere for their trophy case for having the highest paid coach or something. Sexton will find a way to get Saban's name mentioned for the opening at WV.

Let's put it this way. If Saban's name leaks out early in the process then you know he is looking for more money. If you don't hear anything for a couple of weeks after the WVU opening (if it does happen) then rumors start that its a done deal....get ready for the Gump meltdown. Would that kill Bama recruiting or what?

I don't doubt Saban's name will come up, I just don't see it being a case of it coming up just to get him more $$$$. I could see him taking the pay cut just to get into a situation he is happier with or a place he really wanted to be for a long time.

Petrino just joined his third team in less than a year. If Saban were to jump, it would be his third team in a year. Jeeze....

It would not suprise me. I think Saban has gotten himself into a situation that he hates. He is surrounded by stupidity, unrealistic expectations and a media circus that held him up as GOD when he got there and crucified him at seasons end. Moving to West Virginia would only slightly raise the average IQ level but he would get rid of the other two.

Maybe. It's possible. You know Saban is probably kicking himself in the arse for quitting in Miami last year and going to Bama. Had he stayed and gotten fired in Miami this year, he could go have had a number of jobs to go to.

You know he is Rocket. It was bad timing and he came to Bama because he could not pass up the OUTRAGEOUS guaranteed money and no buyout. It was a win/win for him because he can leave at any time with a pocket full of cash. What were the specifics of his guaranteed money?

The Gumps are just on pins and needles until all coaching vacancies are filled. Saban does not look happy like he did at LSU and we all know what the circus was like when he was actually happy.
