Just checked my parents account. They got approved for $842 for rental assistance (like anyone could find a place to rent in the area for $842 right now).

The personal property stuff is still listed as pending.

When you say "personal property" are you referring to dry wall, floors, etc.?

And yeah, $842 for rental assistance? That's a dick sandwich.

I believe personal property means contents - furniture, clothes, electronics, etc. The drywall, floors and things like that will fall as part of the payment for real property, i.e. the house.

No. Parents had dwelling coverage but didn't realize they did not have "contents". Their house is covered but none of the furniture and shite.

FEMA assistance has 2 different avenues... housing and ONA (other needs assistance). ONA is for things like medical, funeral expenses, and personal property (including furnishings). That's what I'm hoping they can get assistance with.

Is that a one-time amount? Or recurring?
