Any Suggestions on Organizations to donate to that will benefit South La

My family and I are in NW La and were in the flood we had in February. My wife handles all claims for LSU and The Louisiana Housing Authority. We know exactly how bad it is. All Livingston Parish Schools were flooded for an example. My wife is got so on her plate that we haven't spoken much this week, even though we both work from home. So we know how bad it is.
My point for starting this thread is to find the best organizations to donate money to that will directly benefit those effected. A friend of mine has some collectibles that are going for $15k - $30k on eBay. I'm going to list on there through my eBay store with proceeds going to the best places possible.
The last words she said to me before running out the door was that FEMA was just giving loans. I'll have to find out more about that when we have 5 minutes to talk.
So I'd appreciate all the suggestions I can get
Thanks in advance

Mr obvious just so happens that I have connections and just send it to me. I'll see that it gets into the right hands.

I heard park view Baptist was a good choice.

Why don't you just find a family to adopt and just learn something about them and give money directly to them. At least you'll know that its going to an actual person who needs it and not some directors paycheck.

I wish I could help. A local church maybe.

This map has a list of several businesses/churches that you can donate to. LINK

A local church would be good option.

I'd appreciate any info as well. I'd donate to the Red Cross, but I'm not confident that donation would find it's way to Louisiana from Maryland.

Exactly! That's why I want to find one local

I don't want to be "that person" on here & 100% understand wanting to help a family & but please consider our local animal shelters. They have websites that take online donations, links to Amazon wish lists & many are 501C. We are fixing to be overwhelmed with strays, many of whom will have injuries & they will need all the extra donations they can get. 5 local shelters had to be evacuated, they lost everything too, all their food, supplies.

This. I won't post it here but my mom and dad lost everything. They setup a gofundme. Find one for someone you know- even if just a friend of a friend- and donate there. Remove the bureaucracy.
