The integration argument has little to do with hitting against black pitchers. It's more about dominance against their peers. Oscar Charleston might have been the greatest all-around baseball player to ever play the game. He finished among the top five Negro Leaguers in batting average and home runs and was as the all-time Negro League leader in stolen bases. But you and most of this board have probably never heard of him because he was shut out by a racist baseball establishment. Same thing with Turkey Stearnes and Mule Suttles and Cristobal Torriente and a plethora of other black players in Ruth's day. I can also point to the dominance of the National League vs the American League in the '50s and '60s. The National League beat the AL in the All-Star Game every single year and was a much stronger league overall because they had all the great black and hispanic position players such as Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Frank Robinson, Ernie Banks, Willie Stargell, Willie McCovey, Roy Campanella, Dick Allen and the list goes on and on. Frank Robinson was a complete afterthought his last year with the Reds, goes over to the American League with the Orioles and wins the Triple Crown. The league disparity was enormous. You're lying to yourself if you don't believe integration didn't have a huge effect on the overall quality of the game.

I think the number is pretty telling and if we're talking strictly HR numbers it somewhat of an undeniable number. Babe bashing is a cottage industry and the intergration argument is constantly thrown out there to discount his accomplishments. It's an imaginary what if red herring.

Huh?The AL won 6 of 10 World Series in the 50's and NL won 6 of 10 in 60's. FAR from dominance.

No it wasn't or it would have been obviously reflected in post season play and it wasn't...not in the 50's,60's and especially the 70's.(AL also won 6 of 10)
