I did. Mine was triggered by divorce and break up of family. Don't buy into this God is making you suffer deal. He's not. It's just life playing out. Don't blame him.
For me, it was learning to live one day at a time. I know it sounds cliche, but it's true. I was most hopeless when I was either looking back at the past and wishing I had done something different. Or looking into the future and projecting all the bad things that could happen, such as holidays, finances, etc.
The truth is, both are worthless. You can't change the past. And why worry about what may not even happen? Most of what I projected and worried about never even happened.
All I can say is it will get better. In the meantime, just try to concentrate on one day, each day. I learned that there is nothing too difficult for me to overcome in one single day. I can wake up, and figure out what needs to be done, and do it, and survive. It takes a lot of practice, and I still fall into the trap. But when I do, at least I realize I am, and go back to trusting in the moment.
Don't fret over things getting much worse. They actually might get much better. Think about that instead. And I would say continue to pray and ask for strength.
