I even really love Knowing.
Hell, I even liked Pay the Ghost (even though it was constructed horribly as a film)
People will mention Moonstruck, Peggy Sue Got Married, Raising Zona, The Weather Man, World Trade Center, National Treasure, City of Angels, Con-Air, the Rock...and of course Leaving Las Vegas.
But the three movies that ARE Nic Cage in acting and what he emotes...and his most rewatchable...are...
1. Family Man
2. Matchstick Men
3. It could happen to you
I always thought he was a better semi-rom guy than a buffed action Rock guy...and
He nails it in his married or a little more sensitive roles. I mean he got his big break as the sensitive stoner in Valley Girl.
His cluelessness about how relationships work is pretty funny.
Him just being an action dork isn't as interesting.
I think he should have stayed in comedy like Arizona and rom-com.
