Agreed. Look, I'm all for tradition, but you can't be so locked in to something just because it's been done that way for years. With that thinking, nothing would ever change, anywhere.

There were plenty of uniform changes from the mid-50s to mid-70s. Hell, the helmet changed many times during those years. We went from old gold, to current yellow with numbers on the helmets, changed the helmet number font, changed to a really bad Tiger logo, then to helmet Mike with LSU letters above it. Shoot, we even tweaked Helmet Mike a couple years ago. And changed the font on our jersey numbers a couple years ago, as well. We've changed the position and length of the shoulder stripes more times than I can count.

Things change. I've got no beef with people that love our "traditional" uniforms, but they shouldn't be resistant to change just because it's change.

In relation to this OP's idea of all gold (yellow), the beef I have with people using tradition as a reason to poo-poo the idea is that this tradition was partly started with all "gold" uniforms.

If it's such a big deal, you'd think some of these people would do some research
