My parents had a pool like this for about 30 years. They had to replace the liner every 5-7 years (but my dad was a serial over chlorinator), you also occasionally have to replace your pump...all of the piping is under the grout bottom and beneath the sidewalk surrounding the pool. They never had any issues with the pipes. Other than the liners and pumps, they never had any maintenance issues with theirs.

If you get 20 years out of a liner then you have probably set some sort of record.
