Looking to purchase an ar15 this weekend or next and besides Cabela's and Jim's and their outrageous prices what are some other places to check out? Going to Hebert's later but wouldn't have a problem driving to Hammond, new Orleans or Lafayette area. Looking for a nice selection with reasonable prices.

Bowies has been good to me and my friends
Interstate Guns in Hammond are great too, fantastic selection
Fererra Firearms in BR are good guys as well

Take a road trip to God's Country and visit Simmons Spoting Goods in Bastrop. The tent sale is currently in progress.
If a road trip is not in your plans, visit Bowie's, Lafayette Shooter, Puglia's, Jim's, Interstate Guns (just don't mention Remington while you're there).
Simmons has the largest selection of guns in the state that I have seen, fwiw. My dad bought him an AR there last week as well as my next son that is due in eight weeks.

Bowies has always been good to me on their prices on firearms. Bought a Colt LE6920 and a Thompson Center Encore from them years ago and they had the cheapest price around. Bought a Shield for the wife there last week, and they were cheaper than anywhere local.

FWIW all of their optics are listed at MAP (including their night vision) Our companies sell at those prices everyday.
Their beretta, Benelli, and stoger stuff is listed at MAP as well.
I'm not into clothing but there might be some deals to be had there.
